Bible Verse of the Week – 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (ESV)

[Preschool +] For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church,

[Preschool +] the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

What does this mean?

[First Grade +] I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the

[First Grade +] whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins

[Second Grade +] and the sins of all believers. ¨ On the last day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ. This is most certainly true. ¨

Hymn of the Week – LSB 332 Savior of the Nations Come

Savior of the nations, come,

Virgin's Son, make here Your home!

Marvel now, O heav'n and earth,

That the Lord chose such a birth.

Psalm Meditation of the Week – Psalm 122

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!

Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together,

to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.

There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!

Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!”

For my brothers and companions' sake I will say, “Peace be within you!”

For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.
